Summer camp is a time for fun, friendship, and unforgettable memories. It’s a chance to disconnect from reality and embrace new experiences. For the young oncology patients and survivors attending Camp Fantastic, the camp experience offers the same opportunities–but it just requires a little bit of “special love” when it comes to their stay.
Held each year in August at Front Royal, Virginia, Camp Fantastic is a week-long retreat for cancer patients and survivors between the ages of 7-17. The camp is run by the non-profit organization, Special Love, known for providing unique programs and opportunities for children with cancer and their loved ones.
The campers at Camp Fantastic get to enjoy a week filled with activities such as canoeing, sports, swimming, horseback riding, crafts, and more. However, having such unique campers calls for a unique experience.
To ensure that these campers can fully immerse themselves in the activities, they require special medical equipment and on-site care. Getting the equipment can be tricky, and this is where 495 Movers comes in. For years, 495 Movers has partnered with Special Love to deliver the necessary medical equipment to Camp Fantastic.
However, for us, it’s more than just moving equipment from one location to another. These kids rely on this equipment to be able to enjoy the camp to their fullest and it’s up to us to ensure it arrives safely and on time.
